EQUI LIVING
Where is horse husbandry headed in the future? What are the latest feed trends?
Hardly any other area has changed as much in recent years as horse husbandry and feeding. Our special show EQUI LIVING demonstrated where developments are heading. It was dedicated to the equine habitat.
In addition to the presentation of current forms of husbandry from stall to open stable, this year's focus topic was "Healthy stomach, healthy horse". New findings on stomach-friendly, adaptive and economical nutrition was presented and discussed. Because according to current studies, more than 50% of all horses suffer from stomach ulcers or a preliminary stage of it. This is triggered by many interrelated factors, including stress, incorrect husbandry or training methods as well as feeding errors.
Innovative feed products were therefore placed in the overall context at the themed area. How can stomach diseases be recognised and avoided? How can a balanced, preventative but also soothing diet be organised in terms of stomach health? How can nutritional management be adjusted and changed in a targeted manner - individually for leisure, sport and race horses as well as adapted to age, size and weight? Trade visitors learned about feed developments based on the latest research - from concentrated feed to supplements. EQUI LIVING was organised together with the feed experts and advisors from EQUOVIS.
